headshot  Sarah Larsen

Originally from Kenya, Sarah Larsen travelled extensively before settling near Thangool in central Queensland, Australia. She is an artist who creates in abstract, impressionist and traditional styles infusing her works with enigmatic wisdom whilst retaining passion and playfulness.

Larsen exhibits regularly in fine art galleries in Australia and represented Australia at the Florence Biennale. She is represented by Art on Cairncross and her works in featured in private, corporate and government collections.

Larsen has been featured in a number of publications and is the author and illustrator of a children's book on Autism spectrum Disorder. As a tutor and mentor, Larsen gains great satisfaction from assisting individual emerging artists to find their unique voice. Larsen is continually expanding her skill base enjoying her current exploration of cold wax media together with drawn, painted, and printed imagery on a variety of substates including repurposed tea bags and polycarbonate sheets.

The landscape, (and our relationship to it), literally, analogically and spiritually form the basis of this "evolving" body of work. The artist invites a more introspective perspective, allowing her audience a chance to explore the painting's surface unearthing the mystery beneath perhaps as a refection of themselves.

Artist, Author, Sculptor, Tutor.
